Set of 6 Vintage 1960s/1970s Tiffin Sussex Cut Glass Mid-Century Coupe Glasses
Set of 6 Vintage 1960s/1970s Tiffin Sussex Cut Glass Mid-Century Coupe Glasses
Vintage glassware for the modern table. These beautiful mid-century coupes are heavy with a sturdy foot base, so they will not tip over easily. The Sussex pattern is a striking cut glass pattern with a beautiful sparkle. The glass bowl comes to a squared bottom on top of a hexagonal stem giving them a unique profile. A traditional coupe glass, these can be used for a variety of cocktails, or for champagne, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks.
Maker: Tiffin-Franciscan - maker's mark acid etched on bottom
Pattern: Sussex
Production Time Period: 1965-1971
Glass Shape: Coupe Glass/Tall Sherbet (Champagne or Cocktail Glass)
Dimensions: 6" tall; 3.75" diameter. Holds 6 oz.
In very good vintage condition. No chips or cracks. As glasses are secondhand they do show very minor wear. The tiny bubbles are normal imperfections arising from the production process of vintage glass. However, there are two flaws to note:
- One glass has a flea bite on its foot. I have filed it and it is not sharp. See last photo for the repair.
- One glass has a very minor flea bite to its rim. It is not sharp and is about the size of a tiny bubble.
This set is priced to reflect its condition.
How to Care For: Hand wash in lukewarm water with mild detergent. Rinse in same temperature water and hand dry. Do not place in dishwasher.
Please let your glasses come to room temperature after enjoying a chilled drink before washing! Vintage glassware is extremely temperature sensitive and going from cold to warm can "shock" the glass causing it to shatter.
